1. Ganesha

He can be recognized as the elephant god riding a mouse. He is the son of Shiva and Parvati and is the lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles. He is worshipped as the gods of wisdom, knowledge, and health. He is also the god worshipped first before any prayers and rituals.

2. Shiva

He is not just the most powerful but fascinating deity in Hindu religion. He represents death and dissolution in his different avatars. He is sometimes worshipped as the calm and composed Mahadev and sometimes he is known for his fearsome temper as lord Rudra.

3. Krishna

He is the great exponent of Gita and ninth avatar of godhead Vishnu. Of all the avatars of lord Vishnu, he is the most worshipped and closest to the masses. He is worshipped as the blue-skinned deity who adores the hearts of many and changed the way people Indian folklore was.

4. Rama

Lord Rama is “the embodiment of truth, of morality, ideal husband, son and most of all, an ideal king”. He is the perfect example of chivalry and virtue. He is also an avatar of lord Vishnu and is known to be an ideal man.

Hanuman – the mighty ape who helped lord Rama in his expedition of finding Sita is known to be an avatar of lord Shiva. He is worshipped as a symbol of perseverance and devotion along with physical strength. It is common belief that chanting his name during troublesome times helps a lot.
